Monumental

_

This animation is part of a larger, ongoing project lead by Simon Pyke which is updated every few months. The project is intended to see what a group of animators and designers come up with from the one-line brief: 30 Seconds of Sound Visualized.

In "Monumental" we take a trip to a world where a being sets out to acquire fame and fortune under the distraction of a monumental planetary alignment. As his heist persists he is further allured by the object of his desires. But as he wanders closer towards the it, he suddenly discovers the consequence of greed but is unable to break free from its grasp.

Proposal

_

When I initiated "Proposal" it was made in hopes of getting recognized by the San Francisco agency Autofuss.

The goal was to make a video instead of writing a cover letter and sending a reel, making it a more personalized message directly to their team. The goal was to showcase my animation chops while speaking to my early design philosophy and process.

Corning Mixer

_

Corning approached myself and Astro Studios to build a short animation which would provide high level benefits and information for an industrial-grade chemical mixing technology called Advanced Flow Reactor. This specialized system developed by Corning is a huge step forward in chemical production and they wanted to showcase it at an annual chemical engineering conference. Because the audience for this video is engineers and chemists, we tried to build on their prior knowledge without diluting the information.

Moon Circles

_

I built this animation, and a few others, for a performance event at Mighty SF called The Particle Circus. The event was aimed at being a proof of concept for a massive collaboration of different types of artists. I wanted to create a clean color palette with objects that mimicked the fluid movements of the performance piece without distracting from the dancers.

Chase Mobile Banking

_

Every year, Chase hosts a Banking event where retail employees join together to learn about new products coming down the pipeline from the internal innovations team. At the time, we wanted to highlight the power of motion within the interface. Because banks face challenges around maintaining a professional yet human appearance, we were using animation to add personality and to educate on app functionality. This video was created in collaboration with Camp Creative when I worked in the mobile innovations team at Chase. The goal was to to show off the work in progress at the time while surfaces upcoming features.

Motion Onboarding

_

When working at Chase, I helped build an onboarding concept which used motion design to guide you through the process. It's something I hadn't seen before, but I instantly recognized the power. I wanted to figure out how motion could help in the experience; how it could entice and encourage learning.
